My Home Building Experience
As a custom home builder and designer, I was tasked with overseeing every aspect of home design and construction, from the first scoop of dirt to the last drop of paint. Managing every aspect of home construction is a rewarding challenge, and a never ending education. The same holds true for home inspection, just when you think you’ve seen it all, something new pops up.
My home building experience, combined with 20+ years of residential and commercial remodeling, has given me the unique opportunity to see first hand the classic building practices of yesterday and the modern building techniques used today, a qualification few inspectors have.
How I Got Started
My fascination with construction started at a young age. I grew up watching my father build new homes and commercial buildings in the District of Columbia and Maryland suburbs. Riding to work with him, I was always excited to spend the day “working” on site, picking up valuable bits of knowledge that have stayed with me my entire life. Although, he sometimes tired of the endless “how” and “why” questions, I believe he truly enjoyed sharing his knowledge with me in the hopes that someday I would follow in his footsteps as a builder. Some 45 years later, those experiences, coupled with 35 years of remodeling and new home construction, are the foundation of my expertise in the home inspection field.
My Promise To You
Choosing the right home inspector can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably won’t meet me until after you hire me.
While all home inspectors have varying experience, qualifications, equipment, and reporting methods, one thing is for sure. A great home inspection requires a lot of work, both during and after the inspection.
Ultimately, a great home inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector’s own effort. If you honor me by permitting me to inspect your new home, I guarantee that I will give you my very best effort, this is my promise to you.
